Preparing for your Service Appointment

|
To make your service appointment as efficient and effective as possible, see our suggestions below. You’ll be on your way to a solution in no time.
- First, review our troubleshooting section to see if the problem is something you can handle without calling a serviceperson.
- Make a quick inventory list in your head for where all your units in your system are located (including furnace, heat pump, circuit breaker, utility meter etc.)
- Obtain the model numbers of all your cooling and heating units.
- Know basic information about your problem: what symptoms have been going on, what seems to trigger the problem, how long ago your problem began, etc.
- If evidence shows that your unit (heat pump or A/C) is frozen, switch it off prior to the technician’s arrival so it may be serviced properly.
- Be sure an adult, 18 or over, is able to legally allow entry into your house.
- Often technicians will confirm an appointment prior to arrival. Be sure to have a phone easily accessible.
- If your house is rented, be sure you have spoken with your landlord in advance.
- Whether the unit is located in a closet or an attic, or its blocked by a piece of furniture, have the unit easily accessible to the dealer.
- You may need to make a payment to the dealer, so have a credit card or debit card ready.
